Emergency Receiving Status at Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services
After evaluating many creative scheduling options and discussions with our team, we have decided we need to temporarily discontinue offering emergency receiving services including surgical cases between the hours of 10:00pm-6:00am starting Monday, January 17th, 2022 in order to provide the best patient care and client care possible.
Please read our frequently asked questions about this change below.
Is VSES changing hours of operation?
Yes, we will be changing the Emergency Receiving hours to 6:am and closing hospital at 10:pm daily starting January 17th.
Why is VSES changing hours of operation?
Why doesn't VSES stay open at night vs during the day when my regular vet is available ?
What will happen to my pet during its hospitalization?
Can I call VSES after 10:00pm for updates on my hospitalized pet?
Can I call VSES after 10:00pm with questions or concerns for my pet who is currently at home?
No. Owners will not be able to call into the hospital after 10pm. Our after-hours message will direct clients to call another emergency location or go to www.vettriage.com to use their telemedicine services if they have concerns about their pet’s health.
Where can we find support after hours?
When you have a pet emergency, VetTriage’s veterinarians are on standby 24-hours to triage your pet before coming to the hospital. For a small triage fee, you will connect to a veterinarian on a live video chat session. They will view your pet and let you know if this is an issue that requires immediate emergency care at our hospital or if the situation can be cared for and monitored at home until you see your family veterinarian at their next availability.
If a pet is having a medical emergency, clients need to call ahead to another emergency location to ensure that facility is receiving patients. These facilities are located in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Ithaca.
